Very interesting article. There is a question as to whether this is really a separate species or not. Anthropology is made up of "splitters" or "lumpers". Splitters tend to see a new species in every anthropological find, claiming that variation is 'interspecific", i.e. differences between species, while lumpers thing that variation is just normal intraspecific variation within a given species. Who is right? We need more evidence to find out, but that doesn't make this any less interesting.
